The role available at Village on the Green, located at 500 Village Place, Longwood, Florida, is for a part-time Cook position with a pay range between $16.10 and $22.15 per hour. The schedule is set for three days a week from 11 am to 7:30 pm. This role suits individuals who are passionate about food preparation and are eager to contribute to a team focused on enhancing resident satisfaction. As a Cook at Lifespace, team members are central to delivering a purposeful and engaging culinary experience to residents and guests. The position involves preparing food items according to menu specifications, ensuring quality, safety, and proper presentation, and aligning production with meal service times. Cooks must maintain sanitary and safe kitchen conditions, including equipment cleaning and adherence to food safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of experience as a prep cook or similar position
  • state certification in safe food handling and sanitation if applicable
  • successful completion of background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes
  • prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests
  • prepare food production to coordinate with meal service hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved
  • ensure food safety by monitoring food temperatures and use proper food storage techniques in accordance with state and local standards
  • maintain work area in a safe and sanitary condition
  • clean cooking equipment and other kitchen areas as assigned
