This job opening is for a Cook position at a restaurant, overseen directly by the Manager on Duty (MOD). The establishment is a professional dining or fast food restaurant environment focused on preparing and serving quality food products to customers. This role is critical in ensuring that each meal meets the company's standards for taste, presentation, and safety. The candidate also plays an essential role in sanitation practices; this includes cleaning dishes, preparing stations, equipment maintenance, and waste disposal. Physical stamina is necessary given the requirement for continuous standing, bending, stretching, and lifting throughout the shift.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, move, stoop, stretch, and lift continuously in a restaurant environment
  • tolerate frequent exposure to heat and hot liquid shortening while cooking
  • tolerate frequent exposure to freezer when stocking food items
  • tolerate occasional exposure to extreme temperatures based on variable weather conditions
  • comfortable working irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
  • operate dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned
  • comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease
  • regular attendance
  • report customer or employee complaints or issues to MOD
  • move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
  • perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
