As a Cook at SodexoMagic located in Merck, Rahway, this full-time position offers a competitive pay rate of $24.50 per hour. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts who want to make a meaningful difference by preparing nutritious and delicious meals with a focus on minimizing food waste. Working weekdays during morning, afternoon, or evening shifts, the successful candidate will be part of a motivated team dedicated to excellent customer service and high food quality standards.

The Cook's responsibilities include accurately preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items tailored for different meal periods such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. The role requires the ability to follow basic recipes and product directions, manage grill stations or à la carte service points, and maintain punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts. Additional duties may differ depending on specific account requirements and business needs, emphasizing adaptability and team collaboration.

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods, may include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events

  • May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station
  • Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements
