We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at Gracedale Nursing Home, located at 98013001. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $18.00 to $22.00 per hour and involves working morning shifts on varying days, including rotating weekends. As a Cook at Sodexo, you will play a key role in preparing a variety of hot and cold dishes that meet Sodexo’s culinary standards for quality, presentation, and consistency. Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, you will ensure food is prepared safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.

Your responsibilities will include following established recipes and food handling procedures, seasoning and cooking meats, vegetables, and desserts, and accurately portioning meals for different service periods and events. You will also be responsible for tasting products, reading menus, estimating food requirements, and keeping production records. The role requires physical stamina to perform tasks such as walking or standing for extended periods, lifting weights up to 50 pounds occasionally, and performing repetitive motions. Being punctual and reliable is critical, as is adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 2 years of related work experience
  • knowledge of basic operation of kitchen equipment
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • good working knowledge of food preparation
