Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a beloved American restaurant and retail chain renowned for its warm hospitality, comforting Southern-inspired food, and unique country store shopping experience. Since its founding in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown into a national favorite with more than 70,000 team members across the United States. The company is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where guests can gather around delicious meals and enjoy a sense of home and community. Not just a restaurant, Cracker Barrel emphasizes its role as a place for meaningful connections, fostering a culture where every team member plays a vital part in delivering memorable experiences.
This opportunity is for the role of a Cook, a position central to the dining experience at Cracker Barrel. As a Cook, you will engage in preparing and plating a variety of comfort foods that evoke the warmth of home cooking. Whether you are helping to prepare ingredients, rolling out biscuits, or crafting customer favorites like pancakes for breakfast or dinner classics, every task you undertake will contribute to creating moments that matter for guests. This role suits individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy being part of a team, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to every shift. Cracker Barrel values team members who quickly learn, stay focused on multiple tasks, and enjoy the hustle and camaraderie that come with a bustling kitchen.
The company offers comprehensive training programs for those with no prior restaurant experience, emphasizing growth from day one. The training, known as PAR (Performance at a Rapid rate), is industry-leading and designed to grow team members' skills and confidence. Additionally, Cracker Barrel provides a supportive culture that includes onboarding, development opportunities, and recognition programs. The employment type covers both full-time and part-time roles, with competitive weekly pay and even same day pay access. Beyond financial rewards, team members benefit from health insurance eligibility starting on their first day, vacation time, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401k plan with company matching after 90 days. The company also encourages participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Program and offers attractive discounts on food, retail items, and exclusive perks.
Cracker Barrel strongly promotes a culture of belonging where team members are valued from the moment they join. This supportive environment, combined with the company’s heritage of hospitality and quality food, makes working as a Cook here a fulfilling experience. By joining Cracker Barrel, you’ll find a workplace where your efforts are meaningful, your contributions appreciated, and your opportunities for advancement abundant. This is more than just a job; it’s a place to grow, connect, and be part of a community. If you’re ready to make the moment and be part of good company, Cracker Barrel is eager to welcome you.
