The current vacancy is for a Cook position at Sodexo’s Deaconess Cross Pointe Center location. This role is full-time with rotating shifts and requires open availability. The pay rate is set at $18 per hour. As a Cook, you will be a vital part of Sodexo’s culinary team, responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of a wide variety of hot and cold food items. - 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- good working knowledge of food preparation
- requires familiarity of kitchen equipment
- must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised

Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
- follow basic recipes and or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
- taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- perform significant walking or other means of mobility
- walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
- reach, bend, stoop, push and or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move 50 pounds
- perform repetitive motions
- attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- perform other duties as assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements
