Job Description

This job opportunity is with an established food service provider dedicated to preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals to residents in a community setting. The establishment prioritizes resident satisfaction and ensures that all meals meet high standards of quality, nutritional value, and presentation. The role centers on preparing and serving meals during assigned shifts. It involves preparing raw food and staples, serving food in accurate portions, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. This position collaborates closely with the Food Service Director and other team members, supporting their efforts to maintain effective foodservice operations that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences. The successful candidate will also participate in managing inventory, rotating food supplies, and monitoring food deliveries to ensure freshness and compliance with standards. This position demands a high level of responsibility in maintaining sanitation standards and food safety practices required by licensing bodies and regulations.

The food service worker will interact frequently with residents, guests, and staff, encouraging open communication to improve meal service quality continually. The candidate should possess a passion for working with the elderly population, demonstrating patience, respect, and understanding while maintaining a positive attitude. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating various kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, stoves, microwaves, grills, dishwashers, fryers, toasters, and coffee makers.

Professionalism is essential, with adherence to hygiene protocols and possibly wearing a uniform as required. The position includes working in environments with temperature variations and exposure to chemicals typically found in kitchen areas. Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts in appropriate portions
  • maintains sanitation standards required by all licenses and regulations
  • cleans work areas, utensils, and equipment with assistance
  • rotates inventory according to dates and ensures food freshness
  • notifies Food Service Director when supplies are needed
  • stores food and checks supplies upon delivery in absence of Food Service Director

  • supports other departments as part of the team and strives to improve resident satisfaction
  • provides good communication to all involved in providing services to residents, guests
  • performs other assigned duties
