Sodexo's emphasis on equal employment opportunity ensures a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees from all backgrounds can thrive.

The role of a Cook at Sodexo, specifically at the UNILEVER location in Trumbull, offers a full-time employment opportunity with a competitive pay range of $7.25 to $22.00 per hour. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about culinary arts and food preparation, and who aim to contribute positively to an efficient and high-quality kitchen operation. Working weekday shifts that may include morning, afternoon, or evening hours, the Cook plays a vital role in preparing and presenting a variety of food items in alignment with Sodexo's culinary standards. Responsibilities include following recipes and product directions accurately, ensuring food safety and sanitation, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. In this fast-paced environment, attention to detail and teamwork are paramount as the Cook supports an exceptional dining experience for all meal periods and events.

The Cook position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with 0 to 2 years of related experience or those who have obtained a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Knowledge of kitchen equipment and basic food-handling procedures is preferred. Cooks are expected to be physically capable of standing, walking, lifting, and performing repetitive motions during their shifts, which may sometimes exceed 8 hours. Sodexo values punctuality and reliability, expecting employees to attend work consistently and perform assigned duties according to the specific needs of the client account.

Sodexo also prioritizes employee growth and development by offering access to ongoing training, career advancement opportunities, and a robust benefits package. This package includes paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plan options such as 401k. Some locations may provide additional site-specific benefits, such as complimentary meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation support. Overall, Sodexo strives to foster a work environment that supports the well-being of its employees and their families, making the Cook role not just a job but a valuable career step within a leading global company committed to sustainability, fairness, and quality service.
