The Cook position at our large senior living community is a crucial role that supports the overall well-being of our residents by preparing nutritious, attractive, and safe meals that comply with all food health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be quick, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while adhering to company standards. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Whether preparing meals from scratch, assisting with food service department organization, or maintaining cleanliness, the cook plays a vital part in delivering quality culinary services that enhance the daily lives of seniors. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior cooking experience in a similar environment preferred
Knowledge of food health and safety regulations
Ability to follow instructions carefully
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work scheduled shifts
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to communicate clearly

Job Qualifications

Experience and/or knowledge of special diets and meal preparation for large groups preferred
Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
Ability to read and understand recipes
Ability to work in a team environment and independently
Ability to work flexible shifts
Ability to handle multiple tasks and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing

Job Duties

Assists in maintaining a well-organized and efficient food service department
Demonstrates a complete understanding of all basic food production skill sets with the ability to perform these error-free and meet the company quality standards
Prepares and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized manner
Performs prep, cooking, and cleaning duties as required
Follow food health and safety regulations and company standards
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
