Job Description

This position is with a dynamic and dedicated restaurant committed to delivering exceptional food service and quality products to its customers. The role of Cook is essential in this environment, as it involves not only preparing and cooking food but also packaging products in accordance with operational and quality standards. The Cook operates various kitchen stations, including the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep areas, contributing to the smooth functioning of daily kitchen operations. This nonexempt position reports directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD), ensuring adherence to company policies and operational procedures. Working as a Cook means embracing irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to meeting customer demand at all times.

In this role, the Cook is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized work environment. This includes performing daily cleaning tasks such as trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, and cleaning equipment. Moreover, the Cook must handle some physical aspects of the job, such as moving and stocking food products up to 50 pounds, and must be capable of working in conditions that involve frequent exposure to heat, hot liquids, and freezer environments.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong knowledge of restaurant or retail food operations, basic math and reading skills, and effective verbal and written communication abilities. Being able to multitask and follow instructions accurately is critical to ensuring efficient and consistent food preparation. Additionally, the Cook must be attentive to detail, proactive in reporting any customer or employee complaints or issues to the MOD, and willing to perform any other job-related duties as assigned. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
