Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., established in 1983 in Glendale, California, has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, the company is passionately committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences across its network of restaurants. More than just a restaurant chain, Panda Restaurant Group emphasizes family values and aims to create an inspiring environment where employees can thrive, contribute, and improve their lives. The company upholds an inclusive and equal opportunity work culture, promoting diversity and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws to ensure fair treatment for all candidates and employees alike. They are dedicated to accommodating individuals with disabilities and fostering a respectful workplace that values every team member's contribution.
The role of a Cook at Panda is central to the operational success of the restaurant and embodies the company's mission of passion, service, and pride. As a Cook, you will serve as a vital leader within the kitchen team, responsible not only for preparing dishes that meet strict company recipes and standards but also for fostering a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for guests. The position demands a hands-on approach in managing back-of-house responsibilities and supporting the training and guidance of fellow kitchen team members, making it an excellent opportunity for growth and career development in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting. This role requires resilience, precision, and the ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a commitment to quality and service excellence.
Working as a Panda Cook means embracing a vital role in a rapidly expanding and dynamic environment where your culinary skills and leadership can have a direct impact on the restaurant's ambiance and guest satisfaction. The company offers flexible scheduling options and competitive pay, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401K with company match, paid time off, and associate discounts. The environment is often fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and prepare food quickly using various kitchen tools, including a Chinese cook knife. Panda also takes pride in providing ongoing career and leadership development opportunities, supporting employees to grow into management roles or other areas of the company. The role balances the demands of a busy kitchen with the rewards of professional growth, community involvement, and working within a team that values quality, passion, and pride at every step.
