Job Description

Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS), established in 1955 and based in St. Paul, Minnesota, is a renowned nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to serving older adults. Through a vast network of 60 affiliated senior living communities across Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, PHS delivers a wide array of high-quality housing, care, and service options tailored specifically for seniors. Additionally, PHS co-owns Genevive, the largest geriatric primary care practice in Minnesota, which provides comprehensive care to more than 15,500 older adults. With a workforce of approximately 8,000 employees, PHS embodies a commitment to supporting independence, purposeful living, and overall well-being for its residents and clients. Renowned for its innovative and compassionate approach, PHS stands as one of the largest nonprofit senior housing and services providers in the nation.

Langton Shores, located on a serene 14-acre residential campus in Roseville, Minnesota, exemplifies PHS's mission by offering skilled nursing care in two primary settings: long-term living “neighborhoods” and short-term rehabilitation designed to facilitate recovery. This vibrant community prioritizes creating an environment where residents receive high-quality, compassionate care while enjoying beautiful wooded walking trails and a close-knit community atmosphere. Those seeking employment at Langton Shores become part of an empowered team dedicated to enriching the lives and touching the hearts of older adults.

The current opening at Langton Shores is for On Call Cooks who will play an essential role in preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals that comply with all state and federal food safety regulations. As an On Call team member, individuals are expected to work at least two shifts per month and may cover for colleagues during leaves of absence, providing valuable flexibility and support to the dining services team.

The On Call Cook position offers a competitive starting pay range of $21.00 to $22.64 per hour, reflecting PHS’s commitment to fair and motivating compensation. This role suits individuals with a passion for culinary arts and care, who appreciate working in a supportive, faith-based environment. Langton Shores fosters a culture where each team member’s gifts and talents are valued, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the community’s mission.

PHS’s Christian Ministry values form the cornerstone of its culture, inspiring a work atmosphere marked by love, respect, and commitment to service. Employees at Langton Shores are encouraged to bring their faith, values, and dedication to work, enriching not only the residents’ lives but also their own professional and personal growth.

Benefits at PHS are generous and designed to support employees fully. Full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week enjoy comprehensive health and dental coverage, including Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), life insurance, retirement plans with employer matching contributions, paid holiday and extended sick leave. Part-time and full-time employees working 20 to 29 hours per week have access to vision insurance, voluntary disability coverage, accident and hospitalization insurance, and education assistance programs. All employees accrue paid time off (PTO), benefit from same-day pay, access employee assistance programs (EAP), college partnership educational discounts, and learning resources, ensuring a well-rounded work experience.

Working at Langton Shores means joining a thriving community where growth and internal promotion opportunities are abundant. The inclusive environment welcomes people of all backgrounds and is supportive of employees’ professional aspirations, making it an excellent choice for those eager to combine a meaningful career with compassionate service.
