In addition to hot meal preparation, the role involves cold ingredient assembly and refrigeration, maintaining strict adherence to sanitation and safety guidelines, including proper food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and maintaining temperature controls aligned with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards. The cook will also be responsible for documenting food temperatures and ensuring proper dating, labeling, and rotation of inventory to prevent waste and maintain freshness.

Maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen equipment, food storage areas, and workstations is also a critical component of this role, promoting a safe and hygienic working environment. The cook’s commitment to detail extends to the presentation of meals, ensuring each order meets the quality expectations of the establishment. Beyond technical kitchen skills, this role demands flexibility and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, requiring stamina as the position involves standing and walking for extended periods.
