The Cook position at Aramark offers a unique opportunity for food enthusiasts who love to cook and experiment with different cuisines, flavors, and cooking styles. This role entails working in a dynamic culinary environment equipped with fresh ingredients and top-tier equipment, enabling cooks to bring recipes to life creatively and effectively. The position follows a Monday through Thursday work schedule from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, allowing a good work-life balance.
In this role, cooks will prepare a variety of foods by following standardized recipes and production guidelines to ensure consistency and quality. The responsibilities also include setting up workstations with necessary ingredients and tools, preparing ingredients through measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling. Cooks operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers, applying a wide range of cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming. Furthermore, the role involves careful portioning and garnishing of meals to meet established standards.
Aramark places significant emphasis on food safety, sanitation, and proper storage to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and compliance. The Cook is expected to clean and sanitize work areas and utensils regularly while adhering strictly to food safety policies and procedures. The role also demands excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude towards guests and coworkers, and adherence to safety policies including the security of company assets.
This position may have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. It might also require wearing uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure safety and compliance within the work environment. Job Requirements
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required

Job Duties
- Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
- Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
- Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- Ensure security of company assets
