Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Two years experience in restaurant or food service preferred
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds infrequently and up to 25 pounds frequently
  • Good visual acuity to read menus, recipes and labels
  • Effective verbal and auditory communication skills
  • Willingness to comply with hospital policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Two years experience in restaurant or food service preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety protocols
  • Capable of working in a team environment
  • Adaptable to repetitive and varied tasks

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold foods with quality and visual appeal
  • Participate in planning, requisitioning, handling, storing, and serving food
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work areas
  • Follow food safety regulations
  • Recommend recipes and menu changes to improve food quality
  • Forecast production and manage waste control
  • Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures
  • Inspect food product integrity before use
  • Clean cooking equipment and workspaces
  • Assist in other areas as required
