The center has a clear commitment to diversity and inclusion, offering equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or any protected status, thus cultivating mutual respect and cooperation among coworkers, patients, and visitors.
The role of a Cook at Mercy Medical Center is integral to the food service team, responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of hot and cold foods with high attention to taste quality and visual appeal. This full-time position operates on a rotating shift schedule, ensuring food service needs are met efficiently across all meal periods. The cook actively participates in food planning, requisitioning, handling, storage, and serving processes, maintaining hygiene and safety standards at all times in accordance with food safety regulations and hospital protocols.
In this role, the cook must demonstrate proficiency in preparing large and small quantities of various meals, including meats, vegetables, cereals, soups, and fruits, adhering strictly to standardized recipes and quality benchmarks.
