Working as a Cook at Aramark means you will be part of a team that prioritizes food safety and adheres to strict production guidelines and safety procedures. You will set up your workstation, prepare ingredients with precision, and safely operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and slicers. Your responsibilities also include baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and using various cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other foods. Beyond cooking, you will be expected to arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established standards and ensure proper food storage in line with safety policies.

Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in your work area, equipment, and utensils is critical, as is providing excellent customer service with a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, and coworkers. The role requires adherence to Aramark's safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation practices, to ensure the well-being of everyone involved.

This position follows a Monday to Thursday schedule, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, offering a structured workweek that promotes work-life balance. The role may involve physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Additionally, employees may be required to wear uniforms and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
