The role of Cook is vital in our kitchen operations, where preparing, cooking, and packaging food products are performed to meet our company’s high standards of quality and safety. The Cook works under the supervision of the Manager on Duty (MOD) and is responsible for operating various kitchen stations such as the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations. This role demands attention to detail, adherence to health and safety guidelines, and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-paced restaurant environment.

In this position, the Cook will be tasked with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the work areas consistently throughout their shift. Duties include trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation surfaces, cleaning equipment, and properly disposing of used grease. The role also involves physically demanding tasks such as moving and stocking food products weighing up to 50 pounds, requiring physical endurance and attention to safe handling practices.

Candidates must be prepared for irregular working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the nature of the restaurant business. Effective communication skills, basic math and reading abilities, and strong multitasking skills are essential to succeed in this role. Additionally, the Cook must be able to follow directions closely, work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, and uphold all company policies and operational standards.

Job Duties

  • Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
  • Operate dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease pursuant to operational standards
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Report customer or employee complaints or issues to Manager on Duty
  • Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
