The Cook position at ASM Global within the Food & Beverage Department at Pinnacle Bank Arena plays a vital role in maintaining exceptional food quality and service standards. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, this part-time hourly role is designed for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food preparation. The Cook is integral to supporting kitchen operations by meticulously preparing ingredients, following recipes, and ensuring proper food handling procedures. This role requires an understanding of various cooking techniques including grilling, baking, and boiling, along with precise measurement and storage practices to maintain food safety and quality.
In this position, the Cook contributes to a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering strictly to ASM Global's dress code and safety regulations. Responsibilities involve prepping ingredients, cooking meals according to established recipes, and maintaining compliance with temperature standards for cooked and raw foods. The position demands teamwork, effective communication, and a positive attitude, making it essential for candidates to demonstrate reliability and adaptability while working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- must be at least 18 years of age
- food handlers permit required in accordance with the Lincoln-Lancaster Health Department
- 1-3 years food service or restaurant experience required

- ServSafe certification preferred, but not required
- 1-3 years food service or restaurant experience required
- basic working knowledge of food and beverage
- ability to work in a team
- ability to follow oral and written instructions and effectively perform the work
- fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness and personal hygiene
- positive attitude and neat appearance
- English preferred as primary language, but not required
- must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
Job Duties
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- prep ingredients for cooking (chopping, peeling vegetables, cutting meats, etc.)
- basic understanding of food ingredients
- have a basic understanding of how to read and execute a recipe
- making precise measurements
- ensure all food and other items are stored properly with receive dates
- proper handling of raw and/or prepared foods and non-food supplies
- testing the temperature of food and knowledge of proper cooking temperatures
- distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils
- washing dishes and taking out trash
- must adhere to the ASM Global dress code which includes wearing black pants and non-slip soled closed toe shoes
- comply with outlined safety regulations and procedures
