The Dietary Aide position at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center plays a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs and overall well-being of its residents. This full-time role operates on a consistent schedule of 4 days on and 2 days off, including weekends, emphasizing the center's commitment to continuous patient care and service excellence. The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with food service operations, ensuring the delivery of nutritious, safe, and properly prepared meals to residents. Job Requirements

  • Must provide evidence of being free of tuberculosis infection upon hire
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when warranted
  • Must demonstrate patience, tact, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to handle emotionally upset or difficult residents
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be willing to work weekends and 4 on 2 off schedule

  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing, or related medical facility preferred
  • Current food handler's permit if required by state regulations
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition
  • Ability to make independent decisions under appropriate circumstances

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dietary work areas
  • Stock and carry dietary supplies, including pushing and pulling carts
  • Interact tactfully with residents, family members, and staff
  • Make independent decisions when necessary regarding dietary situations
  • Assist in emergency evacuation procedures as needed
