This position is for a full-time Cook at their Federal Realty location in San Jose. The role offers a competitive pay range between $25 and $27 per hour. The working shifts vary, with a preference for open availability to cover different days and hours, and specific details regarding shifts will be discussed during the interview process. As a Cook at Sodexo, you will play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality dining experience by working in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment. Your primary responsibilities include preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting an assortment of hot and cold food items across all meal periods and events. Strict adherence to Sodexo’s culinary standards ensures that every dish served meets excellence in quality, presentation, and consistency.

The role requires meticulous attention to food safety and sanitation, maintaining an organized and clean workstation, and working collaboratively with the kitchen team to support seamless operations. The Cook I position involves interpreting recipes accurately and following precise cooking instructions to prepare everything from soups and meats to vegetables and desserts. Additionally, this job demands physical stamina to perform activities such as standing or walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and engaging in repetitive motions. Job Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with federal, state and corporate standards and guidelines
  • Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving a variety of food items
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies
  • Stand or walk for extended periods during shifts
  • Lift up to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds
  • Perform repetitive motions as required
  • Attend work punctually and reliably
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs and client requirements
