Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • culinary degree preferred
  • minimum of one year restaurant or senior living cooking experience
  • able to stand or walk for up to eight hours per day
  • able to bend, stoop, and stretch frequently
  • manual dexterity for food preparation
  • ability to use industrial kitchen appliances
  • able to lift up to 50 pounds independently
  • exposure to extreme temperatures and industrial cleaning chemicals
  • ability to see, hear, and communicate with others

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • culinary degree preferred
  • minimum of one year restaurant or senior living cooking experience
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to operate standard industrial kitchen appliances
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to maintain high cooking and presentation standards
  • interpersonal skills for resident interaction

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items according to standardized recipes
  • adhere to food safety, quality, appearance, and presentation standards
  • produce menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional and dietary criteria
  • assist with meal serving and ware washing
  • visit residents to evaluate food service quality and make improvements
  • represent the community positively and warmly
  • maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization standards
  • exhibit speed, accuracy, and efficiency in cooking
  • demonstrate knowledge in all cooking preparation and production areas
