The current employment opportunity is for the position of Cook, an hourly role with a pay range of $15 to $16 per hour, offering flexible work schedules to accommodate operational needs. The Cook plays a vital role within the community by preparing food items in accordance with standardized recipes and adhering strictly to food safety, quality, and presentation standards. This position is essential to ensuring residents receive nutritious, visually appealing, and delicious meals that comply with dietary and nutritional regulations. The Cook is expected to uphold the community's highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization, contributing to the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of the residents. Additionally, the role involves interacting with residents to evaluate and improve food service quality and presentation. The Cook also supports meal service and kitchen clean-up activities, ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience throughout the community. To succeed in this position, candidates should have at least a high school diploma, with culinary training preferred, and a minimum of one year of relevant cooking experience either in restaurant settings or senior living facilities. Physical stamina and dexterity are necessary to perform the duties required, including standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, and safely using industrial kitchen equipment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- culinary degree preferred
- minimum of one year restaurant or senior living cooking experience
- able to stand or walk for up to eight hours per day
- able to bend, stoop, and stretch frequently
- manual dexterity for food preparation
- ability to use industrial kitchen appliances
- able to lift up to 50 pounds independently
- exposure to extreme temperatures and industrial cleaning chemicals
- ability to see, hear, and communicate with others
