The role of Cook at Sodexo, specifically within Marquette University Catering, is a full-time position offering a pay rate of $20 per hour. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items across multiple meal periods and events.   • 0 to 2 years of related work experience
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • good working knowledge of food preparation
  • familiarity with kitchen equipment
  • must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised

Job Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
  • taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • maintain mobility through significant walking during shifts
  • stand or walk for extended periods, potentially exceeding 8 hours
  • perform reaching, bending, stooping, pushing or pulling tasks
  • lift up to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally move 50 pounds
  • perform repetitive motions
  • attend work and arrive on time with regularity
  • execute other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
