The Cook role at Aramark is centered on bringing food creations to life with passion and precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with fresh ingredients and high-quality equipment while experimenting with diverse cuisines, flavors, and cooking techniques. As a Cook, you will play an integral part in preparing a wide variety of foods following standardized recipes and production guidelines, making it possible for Aramark to deliver high-quality meals and dining experiences to its customers. You will be responsible for setting up your workstation with the necessary ingredients and equipment, skillfully preparing ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, trimming, and peeling, and operating kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.

In addition to cooking, the role includes baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and using several other cooking methods for meat, vegetables, and other dishes. The Cook also focuses on food presentation by arranging, garnishing, and portioning meals according to company standards. Food safety and sanitation policies are a core part of this role, requiring strict adherence to ensure meals are stored and served safely. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils is crucial, as is upholding excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, colleagues, and clients.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes

  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets
