Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior cooking experience preferably in healthcare or senior living settings
  • Understanding of food safety standards
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
  • Flexibility to work Sunday and Monday evenings
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role ideally in healthcare or senior living
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to follow recipes, adjust portion sizes, and prepare meals for large groups
  • Compassionate and caring attitude with a genuine desire to enhance the lives of seniors
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and organized environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences
  • Follow food safety guidelines to maintain sanitation and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
  • Prepare special meals for residents with dietary restrictions such as low-sodium, diabetic, vegetarian, or gluten-free
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth meal preparation and service
  • Support a positive and respectful work environment
