The opportunity available is a cook position with a schedule of Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday, ensuring no late-night shifts. The pay rate for this position ranges from $17 to $20 per hour, a competitive wage within the culinary service sector. The role primarily involves preparing meals with strict adherence to Parkhurst Dining's established recipes, standards, and sanitation protocols under stringent hygienic conditions. The employee will be responsible for monitoring the quality, quantity, and timely production of meals each day, applying best practices such as the "batch" cooking method to maintain consistency and efficiency in food preparation.
The cook will closely manage line presentation ensuring that the right pans and garnishes are used, appropriate utensils follow recipe specifications, and foods are kept at the correct serving temperatures. Coordination with line servers and other team members is essential to ensure seamless communication regarding food items served daily. Additional responsibilities include completing daily production sheets, storing and dating food items properly, adhering to HACCP guidelines in food safety, and employing "clean as you go" techniques to uphold sanitation standards.
This position also emphasizes teamwork, open communication with management, and adherence to uniform codes and personal hygiene standards. The cook is expected to embody the Parkhurst Gold Standards and employ Smile Plus hospitality imperatives to enhance the dining experience for guests. Beyond routine duties, the cook will assist fellow team members and perform other tasks as assigned by management, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
