Job Description
The hiring establishment is a dedicated culinary organization that prides itself on delivering excellence and quality cuisine in a safe and sanitary work environment. This company is part of the hospitality and food service industry, committed to providing outstanding dining experiences through carefully prepared dishes that meet established recipes and standards. They emphasize not only the taste and presentation of food but also the importance of food safety, sanitation, and sustainable practices aligned with environmental stewardship. Their philosophy reflects a strong belief in core values such as People Are Our Capability, Hearts That Serve, Only Excellence, Stay Nimble, and Own It, which resonate throughout their daily operations.
This role is for a Cook position where you will be responsible for preparing food items according to precise recipes and standards. As a cook, you will play a critical part in maintaining the high quality and consistency of dishes served in the establishment. Key responsibilities include prepping ingredients by washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables, trimming meat, and preparing appetizers, salads, and cold dishes. You will also bake, roast, broil, and steam various foods such as meats, fish, and vegetables while also baking breads, rolls, and other baked goods. Presentation is important as you will portion, arrange, and garnish food for pick up by servers or direct delivery to guests. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of workspaces and food storage areas is essential to ensure safety and compliance with health standards. You will be expected to follow approved safe food handling procedures rigorously and adhere to sustainability guidelines through the company’s EarthView program.
The work environment is dynamic and may require working holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts, involving physical demands such as standing for long periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and reaching. The role offers a clear growth path starting from Lead Cook advancing to Sous Chef, Executive Chef, and ultimately Food and Beverage Director, encouraging professional development and career progression. This position is ideal for individuals with previous culinary experience or equivalent training who are passionate about the culinary arts and eager to grow within a supportive and values-driven organization committed to service excellence and sustainability.
