Job Description

Summit is a specialized foodservice provider focused on serving correctional institutions across the United States. At Summit’s El Paso, Texas location, they are seeking a full-time, onsite Cook to join their correctional facility kitchen division. This role is critical in supporting a motivated and energetic kitchen team in preparing and serving meals under demanding, fast-paced conditions. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, has experience in high-volume kitchens, and is dedicated to preparing and presenting high-quality food that meets rigorous standards of safety and portion control. The Cook role involves a combination of food preparation, quality assurance, and maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently are essential. The position offers a competitive pay rate starting at $17.00 per hour along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, wellbeing, and career growth of employees.

Job Requirements

  • At least one years' prior culinary experience in a quality and high-volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking
  • Working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools as well as identify and differentiate food items
  • Customer service experience
