Eastcastle Place is a distinguished senior living and health services facility with a rich history of serving our community for over 140 years. The Cook role at Eastcastle Place is a pivotal position within the Hospitality Department, operating under the leadership of the Executive Chef and Director of Hospitality. This full-time, non-exempt position offers 40 hours per week with a schedule from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, including a required every-other-weekend rotation. The salary is $19.00 per hour and includes a $1000 sign-on bonus, reflecting the value placed on culinary talent and dedication.
As a Cook, you will be integral to delivering exceptional culinary experiences to residents across multiple dining environments, including The Gillman restaurant that serves 100-150 independent living residents and four satellite kitchens catering to assisted living, memory care, long-term care, and skilled rehab areas. This dynamic role requires culinary expertise, attentiveness to dietary needs, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Your contributions will directly impact the wellbeing and satisfaction of residents by preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet individual dietary preferences and nutritional guidelines.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of culinary experience
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and dietary guidelines
- Strong communication skills

- Must be 18 years or older
- Must pass caregiver background check and drug screen
- Must obtain flu shot within 30 days during flu season

Job Duties
- Assist in meal preparation including setting up lunch and dinner while following recipes accurately
- Adhere to dietary guidelines and ensure meals meet resident preferences and nutritional needs
- Maintain cleanliness organization and safety in kitchen and dining areas
- Work as part of a team to ensure timely and high-quality meal service
- Model professionalism collaboration and hospitality in every interaction
- Prepare soups stocks sauces boils braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes
- Prepare and serve sautéed fried grilled steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to preserve excellence quality temperature and appearance of food
- Determine amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and obtain from storage areas in adequate time for meal production
- Assist other cooks to ensure meal service is completed timely
- Efficiently resolve problems with resident orders
- Complete all necessary logs and quality assurance checklists and ensure proper food storage with date and labels when not in use
