Job Description
Action Group Staffing is a reputable staffing agency dedicated to connecting skilled professionals with rewarding opportunities across various industries, including healthcare. Known for its commitment to quality and excellence, the agency works closely with healthcare facilities to meet their staffing needs efficiently. This particular job opening is for a Cook position within a mental health and healthcare environment located in Tulsa. The facility focuses on providing comprehensive care to its residents, ensuring their well-being through both medical and supportive services. Being part of such a facility means contributing not only to the nutrition but also to the overall health and comfort of the individuals served.\n\nThe role of the Cook is pivotal in delivering nutritious, tasty, and well-presented meals tailored to the specific dietary and nutritional requirements of approximately 60 residents daily. The position is a temporary assignment, offering $17 per hour with a work schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This role requires a dependable individual who takes pride in food preparation, understands the importance of consistency, and values the role that proper nutrition plays in the daily lives of residents. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a commercial kitchen environment, preferably with background in healthcare or institutional food service, to ensure the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and meal quality are maintained.\n\nBeyond cooking skills, this position demands strong organizational and time management abilities to prepare and serve meals on schedule effectively. The cook will be responsible for planning and executing daily lunch and dinner including a main entrée, a side dish, and a vegetable, all while adhering to dietary guidelines and portion control. Collaboration with kitchen staff is key to ensure cleanliness and order, including tasks like dishwashing and salad bar maintenance. The role also involves monitoring food inventory and communicating supply needs, essential for smooth kitchen operations. Standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 pounds are physically required aspects of the job, so candidates should be prepared for this level of activity. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cook looking to contribute to a meaningful cause in a structured healthcare setting while receiving competitive pay and consistent scheduling.
