This job opening is for the position of Cook at a vibrant restaurant known for delivering quality food products and excellent customer service. The role of Cook involves responsibility for various cooking stations, including dressing, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and other food preparation areas as assigned. This position demands adherence to strict quality and safety standards, requiring the individual to handle food products with care and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen area. Additionally, cooks are expected to engage in regular cleaning and sanitation duties, including disposing of trash, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, and sanitizing food preparation areas. Equipment cleaning, as well as emptying used grease, are essential tasks to maintain the operational standards.
The Cook must demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring food safety and quality. Regular attendance is crucial, as the role involves irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the restaurant's operating schedule. Safety is a key part of the job, as cooks will handle food products weighing up to 50 pounds and will be exposed to heat, hot liquids, and varying food storage temperatures such as freezers and possibly extreme external weather conditions.
This position requires foundational skills such as basic math, reading, and effective communication to accurately follow instructions and interact with team members. General knowledge of restaurant operations or retail is beneficial. The physical demands include continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting, all within a restaurant environment. Job Duties
- Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
- Operate dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease
- Maintain regular attendance
- Report customer or employee complaints issues to MOD
- Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
