Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a beloved American restaurant and retail chain that has been serving up classic Southern comfort food and hospitality since 1969. Known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, Cracker Barrel has become more than just a dining destination — it is a place where guests gather to enjoy hearty meals, abundant servings, and unique retail items that evoke nostalgia and charm. With more than 70,000 team members nationwide, the company prides itself on its roots and commitment to offering more than just a meal, creating memorable experiences for every guest who walks through its doors. Cracker Barrel's mission emphasizes family values, quality service, and community bonding, fostering a culture where both guests and employees feel at home and valued.

Joining Cracker Barrel as a Cook means becoming an essential part of a team that brings joy and delicious food to its patrons every day. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and delighted to be part of a fast-paced kitchen environment. Whether you are crafting pancakes for breakfast or preparing comfort food for dinner, your work will be instrumental in delivering meals that feel like home-cooked favorites. The company welcomes entrants with no prior restaurant experience, providing comprehensive training to ensure all team members can thrive and excel in their roles. At Cracker Barrel, teamwork, pride in work, and a positive attitude are highly valued, with opportunities for growth and development from day one through industry-leading programs like the PAR training initiative.

As a Cook, you will engage in prepping ingredients, cooking and plating dishes, and contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen. The position offers competitive weekly pay with same-day pay access, along with a range of benefits designed to support your well-being and career growth. Health insurance eligibility starts on day one for both full-time and part-time employees, alongside access to vacation time and an employee assistance program. Additional offerings include a 401(k) plan with company matching contributions, stock purchase plans, and exclusive employee discounts on food and retail items. Cracker Barrel cultivates a culture of belonging where every new hire receives onboarding and training to succeed and be recognized through ongoing employee events and recognition programs.

In summary, working at Cracker Barrel as a Cook is more than just a job — it's an opportunity to be part of a team that values hard work, dedication, and heart. You will help create meaningful moments for guests as part of a supportive work environment that fosters personal and professional growth. If you take pride in a job well done, work well with others, adapt quickly in a busy kitchen, and have a positive spirit, Cracker Barrel welcomes you to join its family and contribute to its legacy of hospitality and great food.
