Job Requirements
- Completion of eighth grade and two years of food preparation training or experience
- 1-2 years of food preparation experience required
- Ability to understand written and oral instructions
- Basic mathematical skills
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Check menus in advance and alert storeroom clerk to pull and thaw frozen foods
- Ensure that foods are at the proper temperature for service
- Prepare all foods indicated on production sheets using standardized recipe cards and standard portions
- Schedule food preparation so that items such as vegetables, meats and grilled foods are made in small batches
- Utilize leftovers to eliminate waste
- Utilize proper methods for storing leftovers
- Sanitize work area and utensils as used
- Check equipment and cooking area to ascertain safety and sanitation requirements
- Exemplify commitment to caring standards in all activities
- Assume other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the position and area
