The role of Cook at Sodexo, located at Iolani School, offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities with an hourly pay range between 20 and 22 dollars. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment where precision, quality, and safety are prioritized. The Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting a wide range of hot and cold dishes in alignment with Sodexo’s culinary standards. The role requires a dedicated professional who can work under varying shifts and schedule flexibility, as open availability is preferred. In this position, you will engage directly in food preparation tasks including portioning, cooking, and seasoning while ensuring all food products meet stringent safety and quality guidelines. You will work as part of a team that values effective communication and collaboration, contributing to a seamless kitchen operation and an excellent dining experience for clients. The job demands physical stamina such as the ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions, alongside the capability to handle kitchen equipment proficiently.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally 50 pounds
- Significant walking or mobility
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time
- Other duties as assigned by business needs.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.
Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided
- Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- Significant walking or other means of mobility
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
