Job Description
Dignity Health Nevada is a not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare system guided by the Adrian Dominican Sisters' vision for over 70 years. Serving the Henderson and Las Vegas communities, Dignity Health Nevada is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care with a special focus on the underserved population. The system encompasses multiple facilities including the Siena Campus, a 326-bed acute care hospital that opened in 2000 to expand the services of the Rose de Lima Campus. As part of one of the nation's largest healthcare systems, Dignity Health supports a network of over 9,000 physicians, 60,000 team members, and 400 care centers across 22 states. These include a diverse range of healthcare services such as hospitals, urgent care centers, imaging and surgery centers, home health, and primary care clinics, all headquartered in San Francisco.
The Cook role at Dignity Health Nevada is integral to maintaining the health and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors by preparing safe, nutritious, and appealing meals. The position requires adherence to stringent state and federal food preparation regulations in a healthcare environment, emphasizing safety and dietary requirements essential for patient care. The Cook will be responsible for managing the preparation of multiple therapeutic diets while ensuring the highest levels of food safety and quality control. Utilizing kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills, the Cook must skillfully modify food preparations to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions.
This role demands meticulous execution of recipes and safe cooking techniques in a fast-paced, high-volume food preparation setting. The Cook will also uphold rigorous sanitation standards by performing cleaning duties to maintain cleanliness in cooking and serving areas and ensure compliance with healthcare food service industry standards. A successful candidate will have proven experience in similar food service environments, possess a Food Handler Permit (NV) within 30 days of hire, and demonstrate a commitment to culinary excellence that aligns with the compassionate care mission of Dignity Health.
