Job Description

Old Chicago Pizza (OCP) is a well-established, full-service restaurant concept that has been delighting guests with its focus on craft beer, pizza, and American cuisine since 1976. With over 100 locations across the country, Old Chicago has built a reputation for pulling impressive local and international beers while preparing fresh, made-from-scratch pizzas and taproom fare. The culture at Old Chicago reflects a passion for quality food and beverages alongside an inviting, fun atmosphere where guests can enjoy great food, exceptional service, and memorable times. As part of SPB Hospitality, Old Chicago emphasizes career growth opportunities and fostering a supportive environment for its team members in a high-volume, casual dining setting.

The culinary team plays a crucial role at Old Chicago, especially in the roles of line cooks, prep cooks, and pizza cooks. These positions are available for both part-time and full-time hours, offering competitive pay rates and comprehensive benefits packages that include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as voluntary benefits. The company also offers flexible scheduling options to accommodate team members balancing school, family, or other life commitments. Advancement opportunities are abundant, as Old Chicago is committed to the professional development of its kitchen staff.

As a cook at Old Chicago, you will be directly responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes from the menu. This includes following established recipe procedures meticulously to ensure consistently high-quality food. You will employ various cooking methods and equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, stoves, ovens, broilers, and pizza ovens to execute delicious menu items. Safety and sanitation standards are strictly observed and adhered to, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment for all team members and guests. Teamwork and communication are highly valued; kitchen staff must communicate clearly and respectfully with managers and fellow team members.

This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food and culinary arts who seek to grow their careers in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. While prior kitchen, culinary, or chef experience is preferred, Old Chicago is open to candidates who are eager to learn and develop new skills. Being at least 18 years old to operate kitchen equipment is required. This job allows cooks to be part of a vibrant team culture, craft fantastic meals, and contribute to an exceptional dining experience that keeps guests coming back. By joining Old Chicago, you become part of a team dedicated to quality, community, and hospitality excellence.
