The current opportunity is for the position of Cook at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital, a Sodexo-managed facility providing high-quality food services in a healthcare environment. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly pay range of $20.00 to $24.00, with varying shifts that require open availability to meet the operational needs of the hospital kitchen. Job Requirements

- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- knowledge of food handling and kitchen equipment operation preferred
- ability to follow instructions

Job Qualifications

- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- knowledge of basic operation of kitchen equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- good working knowledge of food preparation
- familiarity with kitchen equipment
- ability to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards
- follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving various food items
- taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies
- maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation
- comply with safety and sanitation standards
- perform significant walking and other mobility tasks
- stand or walk for extended periods, potentially exceeding 8 hours
- reach, bend, stoop, push, pull and frequently lift up to 35 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- perform repetitive motions
- attend work regularly and show up on time
- perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs and client requirements
