The position of Cook is a full-time role offering an hourly wage of $30.45. The work schedule includes morning and afternoon/evening shifts on weekdays, with further specifics provided during the interview process.
The role of Cook at Sodexo is essential to delivering a superior dining experience that aligns with Sodexo’s culinary standards for quality, presentation, and consistency. A Cook at this level is tasked with preparing a wide variety of hot and cold food items during different meal periods and special events. Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, the individual must maintain efficiency and accuracy while ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met or exceeded. This includes following federal, state, and corporate food handling regulations, adhering to recipes and preparation guidelines, and contributing positively to kitchen teamwork. The role also demands physical stamina, as cooks must be able to stand for extended periods, lift and move moderately heavy items, and perform repetitive motions.
Beyond food preparation, the Cook supports operational needs such as estimating food requirements, checking production quality, and helping requisition supplies and equipment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Requires familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull
- Frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
Job Qualifications
