Job Description

The Newberry Hotel - A Tapestry Collection by Hilton, located in the heart of Bend, Oregon, is a boutique hotel that embodies the spirit of its vibrant city through thoughtful hospitality and an elevated culinary experience. As a proud member of Hilton's Tapestry Collection, The Newberry offers guests a distinctive blend of casual luxury, local flavor, and creative expression. The hotel is renowned for its commitment to quality and attention to detail, both in its accommodations and its food and beverage offerings. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, encouraging guests to relax and immerse themselves in the unique culture and outdoor beauty of Bend. The Newberry Hotel's culinary philosophy reflects its locale—fresh, locally inspired, and thoughtfully crafted food that complements the lifestyle of adventurers, explorers, and wellness-minded travelers who visit the area.

As a Cook at The Newberry, you will play a vital role in delivering this exceptional guest experience through food. This is not a role focused on mass production or generic menus but rather on creating small, flavorful, nutrient-conscious dishes that are as beautiful as they are delicious. You will be responsible for preparing breakfast items and carefully curated small plates using fresh, locally sourced ingredients that celebrate the unique culinary heritage of the region. Your work will energize guests starting their day with a protein-packed scramble or provide a sophisticated touch with seasonal charcuterie boards perfectly paired with craft beverages.

Working at The Newberry means becoming part of a dedicated team that values culinary creativity, consistency, and hospitality. The role will require you to maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and allergen awareness, ensuring that every dish served meets brand standards of quality and presentation. You will collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to ensure timely service that delights each guest. Beyond daily kitchen duties, you may assist with event preparation or accommodate custom culinary requests that showcase the hotel’s commitment to personalized service.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage between $20 and $21 per hour based on experience, along with a range of attractive benefits such as health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) retirement plans with employer match, and paid time off. Team members at The Newberry also have access to Hilton’s global travel discounts and optional daily pay, promoting a supportive work environment that fosters creativity and flexibility. If you are passionate about food, take pride in your craft, and enjoy working in a fast-paced yet welcoming hospitality environment, this role as a cook at The Newberry provides a rewarding, stable opportunity to grow your career while contributing to a unique dining experience that truly reflects the essence of Bend, Oregon.
