The Cook position at Sodexo based at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Greenville offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional culinary experiences. This full-time role pays between $7.25 and $23.44 per hour, reflecting a broad range of experience and expertise. Working varying shifts with an emphasis on open availability, the Cook will be instrumental in preparing a variety of hot and cold food items for all meal periods and events. You'll operate in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring food safety, quality, presentation, and consistency are maintained at Sodexo's high standards.
As a Cook I, you will engage in preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting dishes based on established recipes and culinary standards. The Cook's responsibilities include adherence to federal, state, and corporate food safety regulations, careful food preparation, inventory management, and assisting with kitchen operations as needed.
Ideal candidates bring a foundational knowledge of food preparation and handling, with up to two years of related work experience preferred. This role requires the ability to follow recipes independently, understand basic kitchen equipment, and maintain high standards in food safety and sanitation. Physical stamina is important as the job demands extended periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting of heavy items. Sodexo values employees who are reliable and punctual, emphasizing teamwork and a strong work ethic.
