The role of Cook at HCSG is a vital position responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals according to planned menus within long-term care facilities. Starting at a competitive wage of $15.00 per hour, the Cook will ensure that all foods served meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation while adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines. This role requires effective coordination with kitchen staff and other departments, contributing to maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment. The Cook will also be involved in inventory management and ordering supplies to support smooth kitchen operations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience as a cook or food preparation preferred
  • ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions
  • maintain a positive attitude and effective communication skills
  • compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
  • ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods
  • ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously
  • ability to work around food and cleaning products
  • may be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course
  • current Serv Safe or Food Handler certification as required by law
  • residency within the service area
