The Cook position at Sodexo is a full-time role located at Our Lady of the Lake, offering a salary of $15 per hour. Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 0 to 2 years of related work experience
  • Ability to work varying shifts with open availability preferred
  • Physical ability to walk or stand for extended periods during shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Capacity to perform repetitive motions and physical tasks such as bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
  • Strong adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Punctuality and reliable attendance
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 2 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of basic operation of kitchen equipment
  • Familiarity with food-handling procedures

Job Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided
  • Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • Maintain clean and organized workstation
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient food preparation and service
  • Attend scheduled shifts consistently and punctually
