Recognized consistently as a Great Place To Work for seven consecutive years, the company prides itself on fostering an elegant community where residents are surrounded by the highest standards of quality service, environment, and care. Among its notable accolades are the Best of Senior Living Award and recognition for Innovative Programming in Senior Living. As a leading name in senior living, Legend is committed to providing holistic wellness, Gold Leaf Dining standards, and vibrant life enrichment activities that enhance the quality of life for its residents. The organization dedicates itself to maximizing the potential of every life it touches and cultivating a supportive workplace culture that nurtures associate growth and professional development.
The role of Cook at Legend Senior Living offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who are passionate about preparing nourishing meals from scratch using fresh ingredients. This position involves contributing directly to an exceptional dining experience that is both nourishing and satisfying for the residents, who prefer early meal times, allowing for a work schedule with no late nights. The culinary team plays a critical role in elevating the Gold Leaf Dining experience, ensuring that every meal served meets high standards of food quality and atmosphere. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for providing hands-on assistance with dietary needs, fulfilling special meal requests, maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and service areas, and adhering to safe work procedures that prioritize food safety, injury prevention, and infection control.
This role provides a true work-life balance, along with numerous benefits such as medical, dental, and vision plans for eligible associates, company-paid life insurance coverage, voluntary benefits including hospital indemnity and accident insurance, and a 401(k) program with discretionary company match. Full-time associates enjoy competitive paid time off, holiday pay, and the opportunity to participate in a discretionary scholarship program. Additionally, there are employee recognition programs such as employee referrals and employee of the month/year accolades. Legend Senior Living also supports its associates with resources like employee assistance programs, crisis care assistance, continuing education opportunities, and family member discounts. The company promotes career advancement through annual performance evaluations with raises, creating a supportive environment for professional growth.
As a cook at Legend Senior Living, the ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a commercial restaurant setting and demonstrate the ability to provide the highest level of culinary service and professional interaction to residents and associates alike. The work environment is fast-paced, so the candidate must be organized, flexible, and self-motivated to thrive in this role. This position may require working evenings and weekends as needed. Importantly, the company maintains a drug-free workplace, and drug screening will be conducted at the company's discretion. If you seek a fulfilling kitchen position where your culinary skills can make a positive impact on senior residents' daily lives, this opportunity with Legend Senior Living is ideal.
