Job Description

The company is recognized for its dedication to delivering outstanding patient care through a blend of compassionate staff, well-structured programs, and adherence to healthcare regulations. Life Care Services places great emphasis on maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and patient satisfaction throughout its facilities, striving to create a supportive environment for both patients and employees.

The Cook role at Life Care Services is a critical position dedicated to preparing and serving high-quality meals tailored to the dietary needs of patients. Given the sensitive nature of post-acute care, the Cook must ensure that all meals meet strict nutritional guidelines and food safety standards. This position requires a blend of culinary skill, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of patient-specific diet requirements, including food consistency and special dietary plans. As part of their responsibilities, the Cook will work closely with the dietary team and other healthcare professionals to support patient health and recovery through nutritious and appetizing meal options.

This is a hands-on role that involves preparing meals in large quantities while maintaining exceptional taste and appearance, tailored to individual patient needs. The Cook must be knowledgeable about ordered diets and be able to use approved recipes and production tools to maintain consistency. Timely preparation and serving of meals and snacks are paramount, alongside ensuring the kitchen is stocked and ready for upcoming meal services. The role also demands adherence to Life Care's core policies, including patient rights, safety protocols, and confidentiality directives. Professionalism and integrity are crucial, with an expectation to participate in mandatory compliance training and uphold the company’s Code of Conduct.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently when necessary. Physical demands include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently throughout the working day. Effective communication with the interdisciplinary care team is also essential to support collaborative patient care. Life Care Services promotes equal opportunity employment and values diversity, encouraging all qualified candidates to apply for this vital position.
