Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a renowned and rapidly expanding family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept established in 1983 in Glendale, California. Today, it boasts close to 2,800 locations worldwide, making it the largest family-owned business in its category within the United States. The company thrives on its mission to deliver exceptional Asian dining experiences that inspire not only its guests but also its team members and the communities it serves. The values of family and community are deeply embedded within the culture at Panda Restaurant Group, fostering an environment where associates are motivated to better their lives both professionally and personally.
Panda Cook associates play a pivotal role as leaders within their teams and serve as the heart of the kitchen. The company places immense pride in their ability to create food with passion, deliver service with genuine heart, and cultivate an ambiance reflective of pride and warmth. As a Cook, you will be joining a dynamic, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment at the very core of Panda’s operations—the restaurant itself. This role offers a significant opportunity to develop professionally within the hospitality industry, contributing directly to the success of a powerhouse brand known for its quality food and outstanding customer service.
In this position, you will be responsible for supporting a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for guests by expertly preparing all dishes to meet Panda’s established recipes and standards. Additionally, you will take on leadership responsibilities to guide and assist the kitchen team with their training, ensuring that standards of quality and safety are rigorously maintained. Beyond cooking, you will perform all back-of-house duties, which may include kitchen cleanup, inventory management, and ensuring a safe working environment that complies with local food safety regulations.
The role requires adaptability and stamina, as the kitchen environment is often hot and noisy, with rapid task switching and multitasking under pressure. Effective verbal communication skills, the ability to work cohesively in a team, and conflict management are essential traits for success in this position. Panda provides hands-on, paid training to prepare new hires for their roles, paired with ongoing career and leadership development opportunities. There is potential for growth into management positions, making the Cook role not just a job but a stepping stone towards a fulfilling career with the Panda Restaurant Group.
Furthermore, employees benefit from inclusive policies that promote diversity, equity, and accessibility. Panda Restaurant Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a workplace free from discrimination and harassment. The company complies with all relevant federal, state, and local laws concerning workplace accommodations, ensuring equitable support for all associates.
This role is perfect for those who enjoy working in a team-driven environment, have a passion for food preparation and service excellence, and desire a position that offers professional growth within a respected and stable company. Whether you are beginning your culinary career or seeking to expand your experience in operations, Panda welcomes dedicated individuals to join its team and contribute to sustaining its legacy as a beloved dining destination.
