Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in Glendale, California in 1983, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with nearly 2,800 locations globally. The company has grown substantially while maintaining a family-oriented culture that emphasizes inspiring people to better their lives. Panda is committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences and building strong community ties. As a leader in the fast-casual dining industry, Panda values its associates as the heartbeat of its kitchens and the face of its brand, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for all guests.
The role of a Panda Cook is central to the restaurant's success. As a cook, you will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced, and growth-oriented team where your passion for food, pride in service, and dedication to creating a great ambiance will make a direct impact on the dining experience. This role requires hands-on culinary skills focused on preparing all dishes according to company recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Beyond food preparation, you will assist with guiding and training kitchen team members, upholding back-of-house responsibilities to maintain efficient operations, and fostering a supportive and collaborative kitchen environment.
Working at Panda presents opportunities for personal and professional development with hands-on paid training, ongoing career, and leadership development programs. Full-time associates benefit from comprehensive rewards including medical, vision, dental, and various insurance options as well as 401K company matches and flexible spending accounts. The company promotes work-life balance with flexible schedules, paid vacation, sick leave, bereavement leave, and a Leave Share Program. Additionally, associates enjoy free meals while working, associate discounts, referral bonuses, and opportunities to contribute to their communities.
The role demands physical stamina and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure. Employees are generally expected to stand for extended periods, handle hot and cold foods safely, and lift up to 50 pounds. The kitchen environment can be hot and noisy with limited storage space, requiring adaptability, effective communication, and the ability to manage dynamic priorities and conflict. Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer that supports diversity and inclusion and provides reasonable accommodations to applicants and employees according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
With an hourly pay range of $24 to $27, the compensation is dependent on factors such as location and experience. If you are passionate about food service and want to be part of a well-established, values-driven company that emphasizes growth and community, this Cook position at Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. offers a rewarding career pathway in the exciting restaurant industry.
