Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a well-established family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept that began its journey in Glendale, California in 1983. With close to 2,800 locations worldwide, it proudly holds the title as the largest family-owned Asian dining company in America. Panda Restaurant Group is deeply committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences to its customers through authentic Asian cuisine. The company is known for its dedication to family values, inspiring employees to better their lives and positively impact the communities where they operate. Over the years, Panda has maintained a strong reputation for quality food, excellent service, and a welcoming ambiance that reflects the heart of its operation – the people.
This opportunity is for the role of a Cook, a pivotal member of the Panda team who plays a central role in the kitchen. Panda Cook associates are recognized as key leaders and are considered the heart of the kitchen. As a Cook, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibilities of preparing food with passion, providing service with heart, and creating an inviting, vibrant atmosphere for guests. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and who wish to contribute to a dynamic and expanding restaurant group.
The role involves preparing all dishes strictly adhering to company recipes and standards, supporting the creation of a welcoming environment, guiding and assisting the kitchen team including training responsibilities, and efficiently handling all back-of-house functions. Working here, you'll be part of a supportive team culture where your contributions directly influence the guests' dining experience and restaurant success.
Panda values its employees by offering flexible schedules and competitive pay ranging from $25 to $28 per hour, based on factors such as location and experience. Additional benefits include free meals while working, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time associates, voluntary short-term disability, and cancer income protection insurance. Further perks include health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, a 401K plan with company match, vacation and sick leave, bereavement leave, associate discounts across many brands, a referral bonus, and opportunities to give back to the community. The company also invests in employees through hands-on paid training, ongoing career and leadership development, and clear pathways for growth into management positions.
Panda Restaurant Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring fair treatment and reasonable accommodation under all applicable laws. Working conditions in the kitchen require employees to be able to handle a fast-paced environment with hot and noisy conditions, stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and use various kitchen equipment safely and effectively. The role requires strong verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt and manage conflicts effectively.
This Cook position offers an exciting chance to grow your culinary skills, be part of a family-oriented team, and help carry forward a brand known for excellence and community spirit. If you are passionate about food, customer service, and team leadership, and are looking for a rewarding career in the restaurant industry, Panda would love to have you join their team.
