Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a renowned family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept that started in Glendale, California, in 1983. Over the years, it has grown to become the largest of its kind in America with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company's mission is to deliver exceptional Asian dining experiences by fostering an environment where employees are encouraged and inspired to improve their lives. Known for its strong family values, Panda Restaurant Group places a high priority on impacting not only its team members but also the communities it serves. Their commitment to employee development, quality service, and community engagement has made them a respected leader in the restaurant industry.

The role of Panda Cook is a pivotal one within the organization, serving as the heartbeat of the kitchen and a key leader among the team. This position plays a fundamental part in creating food with passion, delivering service with heart, and cultivating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. Working as a Panda Cook offers a unique opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where every day brings new challenges and chances to contribute to the company's success.

As a Cook, you will be responsible for supporting a dynamic and friendly environment that guests can enjoy. You will prepare dishes following company recipes and standards to ensure consistency and quality in every meal served. Leadership and teamwork are essential, as you will guide the kitchen team and assist with their training, helping to nurture the skills and performance of your colleagues. This role also encompasses all back-of-house responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations within the kitchen from food preparation to safety and cleanliness. The ability to work quickly and accurately in a noisy, hot, and often restricted workspace while maintaining high standards is critical.

This role requires standing for long periods and involves physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and reaching across countertops. As the Panda Cook, you must be comfortable handling various kitchen tools, including a Chinese cook knife, and be able to manage fast-paced food preparation without sacrificing accuracy. Effective verbal communication, adaptability to changing priorities, and conflict management skills are essential to succeed in this dynamic environment.

The company values diversity and inclusion and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on legally protected characteristics. Panda Restaurant Group offers a supportive atmosphere with opportunities for career advancement, comprehensive training, and leadership development, making it an excellent choice for candidates seeking long-term growth in the hospitality industry.
