Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in America, founded in 1983 in Glendale, California. With close to 2,800 locations globally, Panda is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences that not only satisfy taste buds but also enrich the lives of their team members and the communities they serve. The company is deeply rooted in family values and prides itself on building a supportive and inspiring work environment where employees can grow personally and professionally. Their restaurants serve as the heart and soul of the organization, reflecting a vibrant culture and passion for great food and service. Panda embraces diversity and is committed to equal opportunity employment, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive workplace for all individuals. They comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding workplace accommodations and disability rights, supporting applicants and employees through necessary adjustments for accessibility and effective participation in their roles.

The role of a Panda Cook is pivotal within the company’s kitchens. As a cook, you will be an essential leader who embodies the company’s spirit by creating food with passion, providing service with heart, and contributing to an ambiance crafted with pride. This fast-paced, growth-oriented role offers the opportunity to be a central part of the team, enhancing both the dining experience and operational efficiency. In this position, you’ll be tasked with preparing all dishes to company standards, supporting the kitchen team, and fostering a welcoming environment for guests. This role also involves guiding teammates, assisting with their training, and performing all back of house duties, ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and delivers high-quality food consistently. The position requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining accuracy and safety standards. The work environment is dynamic, bustling, and occasionally challenging with heat, noise, and physical demands such as standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. The company supports its employees with hands-on paid training and ongoing career and leadership development, offering pathways for growth into management positions. Benefits include flexible scheduling, competitive pay, free meals, comprehensive health coverage, 401K match, paid leave programs, associate discounts, referral bonuses, and opportunities for community involvement. Candidates for the cooking position should have at least some high school education, preferably some operational experience, and must meet local food safety requirements, including obtaining food handler certification. This rewarding opportunity invites individuals who are eager to contribute to a vibrant team, deliver exceptional dining experiences, and grow within a company that values its people and their success.
