Job Description

SpaceX is a pioneering aerospace manufacturer and space transportation company founded with the visionary belief that humanity's future lies in exploring and inhabiting other planets, particularly Mars. Established with the mission to revolutionize space technology and enable human life beyond Earth, SpaceX has earned a formidable reputation for its innovative approach to rocket design, reusable launch systems, and ambitious projects such as Starship and the Mars colonization plan. The company's work not only advances space exploration but also fosters a culture of ingenuity, precision, and forward-thinking that sets it apart as a leader in the aerospace industry.

Within this dynamic and cutting-edge environment, SpaceX recognizes the importance of supporting its workforce with exceptional amenities, including providing nourishing and delicious meals to fuel the ambitious team. The role of Cook at SpaceX is integral to this mission, serving as an entry-level position designed for individuals who have a foundational understanding of basic cooking principles, food safety standards, and the operation of kitchen equipment. As a Cook, you will work primarily in one of SpaceX's various food outlets, focusing on food preparation and managing a designated station to meet the quality and efficiency standards set by the company's culinary leadership.

This position is more than just a job in food service; it is an opportunity to contribute to the overall success of SpaceX by ensuring team members have access to quality food that enhances morale and productivity. The Cook must be proficient in maintaining a clean and safe workstation, completing daily prep tasks, and producing plated dishes that align with the company’s expectations. Moreover, this role emphasizes teamwork, timeliness, and adherence to health and sanitation regulations, reflecting the company's overall commitment to excellence and safety.

The Cook position is recognized by a competitive pay structure, with tiers ranging from $22.50 to $26.50 per hour depending on experience, education, and skills. Beyond base salary, employees may receive long-term incentives like company stock, discretionary bonuses, and the option to participate in an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Benefits include comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, retirement plans, disability and life insurance, paid parental leave, paid vacation, and numerous other perks. This comprehensive rewards package reflects SpaceX's dedication to supporting its workforce both professionally and personally.

SpaceX is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to merit-based hiring that respects all protected classes and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds. Candidates must comply with ITAR requirements due to the company's sensitive work, necessitating U.S. citizenship or equivalent status. The Cook position offers an excellent entry point for those eager to grow their culinary careers within a unique and inspiring workplace where innovation propels both space exploration and employee development.
