The line cook position at RPM Seafood is a vital role responsible for preparing, producing, and presenting all menu items with exceptional attention to detail and quality. This role requires adherence to specific recipes and accommodating special requests, ensuring consistent food safety and quality standards. Line cooks must have the ability to multitask effectively under pressure, safely operate kitchen tools including knives, and communicate efficiently with management and team members. This position demands physical stamina, including standing and walking throughout the shift and handling various weights up to 50 pounds. The work environment includes confined, sometimes noisy, and temperature-variable kitchen spaces. Line cooks are expected to be team players who contribute positively to the kitchen’s dynamics and restaurant operations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a line cook or kitchen role preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices
- Ability to follow specific recipes and instructions accurately
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a line cook or in a similar role preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Physical stamina to stand and lift as required
Job Duties
- Prepare menu items according to prescribed recipes and/or special requests
- Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
- Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives
- Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction
- Multitask calmly and effectively under pressure
- Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
- Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces
- Follow all prescribed portioning controls and par levels
- Maintain food safety and quality standards
- Ability to read a thermometer correctly and efficiently
- Communicate any food delays or issues to Coordinator
- Maintain menu item counts and communicate to Management and service staff when quantities fall below restaurant specific minimum quantity
- Accurately account for all items coming out of the station
- Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions
- Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
- Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Get along well with others and be a team player
- Other duties will be assigned as needed
